How I Got Hooked on The Miracle Morning Routine
I read the book, argued with myself about it, then implemented the steps
The Miracle Morning routine made me more productive, helped reduce chronic pain symptoms, and gave me the inner peace needed to navigate parenting while social distancing. Here’s my experience, and why I recommend giving it a shot.
I consume personal development books at a rate well above most people I know. I typically purchase the kindle and audible version so that I can switch between reading when I have the time, and listening when I’m driving or cooking dinner.
My goal with each of these books isn’t that it will completely alter my life. I don’t expect a huge life-change from reading a book. That doesn’t happen without taking decisive actions. My goal in reading these books is to find tiny nuggets of inspiration to make small changes that improve my life in some way.
When I read books about scheduling or productivity, I’m not looking to change my entire routine; I’m looking for a single idea to add, or rationale for removing, part of my existing habits. For example, Daniel Pink’s When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing had me revamping my day so that, as a lark, I can get to work early in the morning and have a built-in break during my mid-day slump.
